3. = 10 × [4 + 57] = 10 × 61 = 610.
Answer: 610.
Convert 60° to radians.
1. Multiply degrees by π/180: 60 × π/180.
2. = 60π/180 = π/3.
Answer: π/3 radians.
Find the modulus of the complex number 3 + 4i.
1. The modulus of a + bi is √(a² + b²).
2. = √(3² + 4²) = √(9 + 16) = √25.
Answer: 5.
Find the number of terms in the expansion of (x + y)⁷.
1. The expansion of (x + y)ⁿ has n + 1 terms.
2. Here n = 7, so the number of terms is 7 + 1.
Answer: 8 terms.
Find the slope of the line 2x + 3y = 6.
1. Rearrange into y = mx + c form: 3y = −2x + 6, so y = (−2/3)x + 2.
2. The coefficient of x is the slope.
Answer: −2/3.
Evaluate lim (x→2) (x² − 4)/(x − 2).
1. Factor the numerator: x² − 4 = (x − 2)(x + 2).
2. Cancel (x − 2): the expression becomes x + 2.
3. Substitute x = 2: 2 + 2 = 4.
Answer: 4.
If A = {1, 2, 3} and B = {2, 3, 4}, find A ∪ B.
1. The union contains every element in A or B, listed once.
2. Combine and remove duplicates: {1, 2, 3, 4}.
